Plague outbreak in Tyros

A joyous event nearly turned tragic last Monday when the newly appointed Ambassador of Tyros, Videtta Kiranov (who is also a reporter for the Tyros Times), fell ill and collapsed after her pledging ceremony to the Isle of Tyros. An impromptu celebration was held after the pledging at the outdoor cafe overlooking Tyros. It was there that Videtta collapsed.

At first it was suspected that perhaps bad mead had lead to her illness, however it was soon discovered to be something far worse. Videtta, who originally hails from the village of Green Cliffs, was showing signs of the horrible bazi plague that had run rampant through the streets of that village. The plague had grown so out of control there that the citizens of Green Cliffs felt their only option was to burn their village to the ground and rebuild.

Quickly Videtta was moved to the infirmary at the top of the city, and birds were sent looking for a Physician to treat her condition. Given the suspicion that she did have bazi plague, all her clothing was removed and burned, and her body was inspected for lice and fleas. We all waited with concern for a Physician to arrive. Though through the valiant efforts of Trisha Ireton, and the slaves of our Regent, gypsy and mae, they were able to lower Videtta’s fever and stabilize her.

Hulapop Mahoney, a Physician of Lara arrived to assess the situation. He soon confirmed our worst fears that Videtta was indeed suffering from the bazi plague. Using his impressive skills he was able to treat her condition. After her fever broke and the danger had passed, all that had helped Videtta had to destroy their clothing by fire, and bathe completely and thoroughly. Fortunately the Priest Kings smiled upon the Isle of Tyros and plague has not spread any further.

Videtta fully recovered and has assumed her new duties as one of the Ambassadors of Tyros. All of those of Tyros are reminded to keep things as clean as possible and to remove any pests or fleas immediately. The plague did not spread this time, but we all must be eternally vigilant so that the fate of Green Cliffs does not befall our homestone.

Assassination attempt at Port Kar

The alarm bells rang in the early morning hours at Port Kar and an assassin climbed the outer walls entering the city. The warriors of Port Kar responded chasing down the member of the black caste but at a high cost as the first sword received a near fatal wound.
The physicians at the infirmary worked tirelessly attempting to save the mans life and in the end succeeded. They moved about the infirmary with a quiet efficiency that spoke volumes about how often this city is attacked.
Port Kar opens it gates to everyone, but surviving there is difficult. Pirate raids, assassins often plague and roam the streets. The dress for free women is very lax, and unlike Tyros, it remains a dangerous place. More from its own citizens than from any outside raider.

The trouble will continue for a long time as long as they continue to be a refuge for outlaws and pirates. Until then, it is an exciting city with merchants scurrying for their rooms and everyone keeping an eye on everything. With the clinic running a medical school because of the many wounded that come through their doors.

New Citizens pledge their allegiance to Tyros

A ceremony was held on Sunday to welcome the new citizens of the growing family of Tyros. The ceremony started with the inspiring words of the Head Scribe of Tyros, Emuna Zamani. With grace and flourish she spoke these words to all who attended, “This day is a joyous one for Tyros. The Swearing of Oaths is normally for the young man or woman that has come of age to take an oath upon themselves in the defense of the city and its inhabitants. It is rare that goreans swear to a new HomeStone. The loyalty is for life! But here, today we recognize those that lost their city to siege and those who have had to make the hard decision to separate from their families for a better life.

So today, we are young and the Tyros that looks to the future. For as we look upon the HomeStone that has been brought before us, we see more than just a stone. We see the ones that have made the pledge before us and the ones that will make after us. These are the people we share salt, bread and fire with . . . This is Tyros and as you follow the instructions of our leader and accept the laurel wreath, you are conferred as a true citizen of Tyros.” Emuna’s words spoke to the heart and soul of all there.
The Ubar of Tyros, the great Theodoric Delphis, spoke next. He spoke of Homestone, and what it means to Tyros, “To a Gorean, the homestone oath is the most sacred thing that can be done. There is nothing more meaningful there is no higher bond. Once taken it is never broken Do not take the oath lightly. Do so if you are ready to be a Tyrosean for the rest the days that the Priest Kings grant you. Where we stand is symbolic. Tyros has always been different and our homestone ceremony will follow on that vein. The security of Tyros is based on the fact that we are an island and that we are at the end of the world . Therefore it is appropriate that this very island is our homestone, This small stone is symbolic and I place it upon a lager rock. In truth all the rocks of Tyros are sacred.”

Many pledged that day. The list is long, and speaks to growing strength of Tyros. Those pledging that day were (in order of pledging): Ranger Flow Ambassador of Tyros, Elana Clarity, Vylixan Fallon Magistrate of Tyros, Izzabella Romano, Trenton Childs Historian of Tyros, Emuna Zamani Head Scribe of Tyros, Miranda Marjeta Ubara of Tyros, and Zmilla Rehula. All were welcomed with open arms by the Ubar as he said, “You are all now those who have sworn my brothers and sisters. I honor you all and cherish your commitment.”

Many words were spoken by those who pledged. They all spoke of their commitment to Tyros and their Brothers and Sisters. From those who newly arrived, such as myself, to the Ubara who helped build Tyros into the great Homestone that it is. All that spoke, spoke from their heart and soul.

Green Cliffs is being rebuilt

From the ashes of destruction and fire the village of Green Cliffs struggles to place their homestone. The building has just restarted led by Akita Osnomochi and Darki has begun. The buildings were all burned to the ground to stop the spread of fleas that had plagued the livestock and forest animals jumping to the human population.

Fredrick Carson, the village head man, took the homestone and the village burned and the villagers stood on a bluff watching as all of their possessions disappear in a puff of smoke.

In the following time, life for the village has not been easy, living in a cave in the wilds of Corcyrus Hills. But with the homestone in their possession, they have survived. The spirit of the tiny village lives on in the rebuilding of the houses, and who knows maybe they will soon return to their native lands. But for now the builders have started the surveying and clean up in anticipation of their return.

Tyros – Hunjer talks

Representatives from Hunjer traveled to the Isle of Tyros seeking trade and alliance. The distinguished dignitaries met with The Regent of Tyros, Galahad Huet. A banquet was held in their honor, and representatives of the various parts of Tyrosean society were in attendance, including this reporter.

A huge feast was served, and talks progressed. It was decided that many of Tyros would travel to Hunjer for a tour. When negotiations are final, and we can all proudly proclaim the Tyros – Hunjer alliance, a formal signing ceremony will be held in Hunjer. I look forward to traveling to Hunjer and reporting back on the splendors of it. All of Tyros look forward to welcoming those of Hunjer as Brothers and Sisters.

COMMENTARY
A Gorean Free Woman’s Views

It has been a few weeks since I started the paper with Trenton Childs. And it has been an insightful and interesting experience. Many citizens have seen me moving around town in my robes of concealment along with Lady Trisha Ireton. We glide through the city covered from head to toe in our thick robes hidden from sight.

In a city that is known for allowing free women to go unveiled if they chose why would we choose full robes of concealment. We can go back to a very practical reason. Our beauty is our own. We conceal it for our safety. Why would a raider kidnapped us when it is unknown what our physical features are when they can kidnap a beautiful kajira whose charms are open and out there for anyone to see.

I remember to my first week here when Lady Heather had been kidnapped injured severely and left for dead on the docks. Would this have happened if she had been covered in our shapeless robes her hair bound up under her heavy veils that even shaded her eyes. If she had maintained the stoic discipline that is known to free women. It is a question to ponder.

Do we as Gorean’s want to put the cities most precious treasure’s, their free women of high caste in such jeopardy that they are easily targeted? Is the simple light veil that most free women wear enough to keep them safe, or just enough for custom? How would the streets of Gor look with free women clad in their caste colors covered from head to toe moving around stately and mysterious? Think about these questions as we strive to make Gor more Gor and watch the challenges that those fully concealed enjoy and the ease with which we can keep our secrets.

Kajira creative christmas contest

Tis the season of giving. Christmas is upon us. A wonderful feeling, chilly weather, snow on the ground...warm fires, rushing around gathering items, putting up decorations, creating a festive mood.

Everyone knowsa that a kajira cannot own anything. That doesn't mean that a kajira can't still give a gift, still can't show her love and devotion, to a Master, a Mistress, or to a fellow slave.

This contest is open to all, but is from the viewpoint of a slave. Using your creativity, submit a notecard detailing your idea....do you do extra chores? Have you written a poem? did you use your best silks to create a purse for your Mistress? Did you trade chores to someone, to get the items to create a rose-scent for their bathwater? Did you spend your time, to just make a lop-sided half-baked coffee mug?

There are so many things that can happen from the viewpoint of a slave...we were allowed some items from our Masters...or could find ways of getting them otherwise...show your creativity, and show how you would express your Holiday Spirit.

So, come to House of the Axe Gorean Market, and stop in the tavern building next to Treasured Lily Designs...look at the board for the current sponsors, and up-to-date prizes. Place your submission in the mailbox there. This can be in any format....perhaps you have written a story about it? Roleplayed it out with a sister? Written a poem about it? Use all of your creativity, to let us know...impress us!

If you speak another language, or know someone else who speaks another language, do not let this stop you (or them) from entering. I will ask for translations of any entries in other languages, I hope that ANYONE will enter.

Contest runs from Monday, 12/8, to Friday, 12/19. Announcements should be made by Sunday, 12/21. There will also be random awards from various merchants, awarded then.

There is a red box, marked "Letters to Santa". This is where you need to drop your notecard. Please write up your submission on there, and include a full-perm copy of your picture, and any items necessary (if you made an item for your Master, include a picture, or a full-perm copy of the item, if you want to give it to everyone. Did you sing a song? include a fullperm copy of the sound file). I will take these cards, and place them up on the board. Then you wil be up for vote!

There will be 3 ways to earn a prize. First, there will be a judgement of a panel of 5 judges (to be determined). With this, there will be prizes of 1st, 2d, and 3d place. 2d, there will be a popular vote contest. This contest will have 1st, 2d, and 3d places, also. The 3d will be a merchant's favorite. Those merchants that are located here in House of the Axe, and other merchants, may choose to sponsor a prize, choosing whom THEY feel was the best, most original, most heartfelt, quirky, written in their language...whatever they decide to base their decision on.

Duties:
* Oversee training of slaves to serve and dance in the tavern;
* Greet guests and visitors to the tavern;
* Manage guest rooms in the tavern;
* Schedule and hold regular tavern hours once or twice a week and advertise that the tavern is open in various Gorean groups;
* Be on hand at other unscheduled times as well for spontaneous role play as it arises;
* Support other town functions;
* Recruit slaves to serve in the tavern on a regular or occasional basis;
* Supervise assignment and completion of chores in the tavern.
* All free men in any position (except physicians or initiates) are expected to defend the town and its citizens in case of attack.

This postion may be filled by a free man or a free woman.

* Assigns work to slaves, and slaves to various work locations such as the tavern, inn, baths, and to assist citizens in their work;

* Support town functions;
* Ensures slaves receive medical treatment and attention;

On this day December 8th 2008 we were visited in the city by a homless Free Woman who had decided to camp in the caves, Her manners were repugnant her hygiene foul. After bathing in the bath house she was invited to partake with Lady Mora your Admin . Soon after a few urts apeard as if drawn to her, after she left more and more arrived on the scene soon we were in fested with the bunch. I called out for assistance and out fearless FS Mehrunes Unsworth came to the rescue with a Tharalone to eat up the urts , the beast proceded to knock over the Banquet hall tables and cushions destroying the hall. One cusion was set ablaze from the hearth and soon the hall was burning from many small fires. In attempting to put out the Fire he used his cloak which spread the fire faster. Luckily more citizens arrived with buckets of water and together the hall was saved ...i'll have you know that no paga was harmd in this catastrophy>. If you happen to see the woman Ena please detain her for the slaver as she will be collard for the city as payment for all the damages.

SUICIDE OF THE DISHONORABLE BRAYDON PARX

Braydon Parx a member of the blue caste of Tyros committed suicide, the last dishonorable act in a trail of dishonor that started with the fraudulent filling of a doctored free companionship paper, and ended at the bottom of a cliff. The man, if one can call someone who acts with such dishonor a man, entered quickly into a free companionship with fellow scribe Barbi Sciarri. While we can debate the proper amount of time one should court before a companionship, no one can debate that falsifying documents and fraud is ever proper.

The crux of the fraud lay in the altering of key terms at the end of the contract. The Tyros Times acquired copies of the unaltered and altered documents. These excerpts show the fraud.

Actual Document:
“All properties of Both parties are to Be Held with in their respective rights of Ownership i.e property, houses ,apartments, slaves , gold ,silver, gems or jewels, shall be jointly owned.

~It is understood by both parties that Lady Barbi Sciarri will remain in Tyros with her companion Braydon Parx.”

Fraudulent Document:
“It is understood by both parties that Lady Barbi Sciarri will remain in Tyros with her companion Braydon Parx. The following terms have been established under the initiation of this Free Companionship contract, Lady Barbi is hearby forbidden to leave the gates of Tyros without the escort of her companion Sir B.Parx or by someone that has been given full permission and authority to take his companion from the city by Sir B.Parx. Any action that B.Sciarri takes part in that can be seen as unfaithful to her beloved Braydon Parx will result in direct punishment and a possible force collaring. Jointly owned properties include all of, except, Braydon Parx's; 1. Living Quarters, 2.Furniture, 3. Possible OffSpring, 4. Entire Wealth. All secrets must be revealed to Braydon Parx, any reason to believe that B.Sciarri is hiding something can result in a trial and if found guilty will result in serious consequences. Lastly, by entering this companionship both persons invloved promise to keep each other loved and protected as long as the companionship term is valid, unless one of the above terms which has been mentioned takes place, and therefore will result in further actions being taken by Sir Braydon Parx.”

The obvious fraud was caught by Galahad Huet the Regent of Tyros. When the despicable free man brought the scroll to the Regent for his seal, he thought the terms to be quite unusual, and sought out Barbi Sciarri to confirm she had read the document before signing it. She nearly fainted when she read the terms that were added to the scroll, after she had already signed it, according to the Regent. At that point this became a legal matter for the Magistrate of Tyros. The Magistrate found Braydon Parx guilty and ordered all his property to be seized and given to Barbi Sciarri. He was then stripped of his position and ordered to the service of the Ambassador of Tyros, Ranger Flow, for rehabilitation into the blue caste. It was a more then fair sentence. Once again, showing the even handed strength and justice of the city of Tyros.

Later that night, the dishonorable man took his life by jumping from a high place, but not before he dishonored himself yet again, by professing his love for another woman, and blaming all of Tyros for his dishonor. The end of a very undistinguished life, one that will only be remembered for dishonor. The Ubar and Regent of Tyros have ordered that Braydon Parx name must never be mentioned in the city limits of Tyros.

The companionship ceremony of Sean Wiesel apprentice physician to Stormy Brunson physician of Green Cliffs is scheduled for this Sunday. Notices have been sent out and many dignitaries from all over Gor will be attending this event.

Tyros's own Foxxie Okina has been a tutor and a mentor to Stormy for awhile. Trenton Childs publisher of the Tyros Times will be performing the ceremony. Green Cliffs is part of Coccyrus which is an ally of Tyros, and Stormy sits on the council of Green cliffs.

This is a joyful event that all of Gor should celebrate with toasts and well wishes even if they are not able to attend. May the Priest Kings look favorably upon this union.

The valiant warriors of Tyros have mounted an effort to free their captured comrade. All of Tyros wish our forces well as they move forward with their mission of honor. May the valiant forces of Tyros wipe out the panther scum and return Cowboy safely to the city that he serves so well.

STRANGER IN THE CAVE

As I was taking a walk near the river one evening under the three moons, I encountered a strange and frightening apparition. As he neared me, I could make out his appearance in the moonlight...he had long, shaggy hair and beard, was dirty and shirtless, and looked disoriented. I froze. He approached me, and my fear lessened as he related his story.

It seems he had woken up in our caves, unable to recall how he got there, and barely able to speak. He was hungry and weak. I took pity on the man, and at first suggested he obtain work in the vineyards, as it was honest work, and would quickly provide him nourishment. As I watched him, I realized he was quite muscular and had the build and look of a warrior. I had a better idea.

Since I have recently come into a large sum of money, I decided to help this unfortunate man, and offer him a position as my personal guard. He accepted, and I gave him a silver coin as a retainer. He promises to groom and dress himself properly, and be available to protect me when I travel, or take moonlit walks alone. Please welcome him (Minollo Menges.) He may not be able to speak much, but my instincts tell me this man was once a great warrior.

Teehras Landing Dance Competition

A contest to discover the most seductive, sensous, desirable kajirae on Gor.

Each girl will be allowed 10 minutes for her dance, starting from her first post. Each will be judged is the areas of composition, authenticity, pleasure, creativity/originality, and expressiveness, with 10 points possible for each area (50 points max). The winner will be the dancer with the highest total score. Judging will be done by Free Men of Gor.

You may dance one of the traditional Gorean dances or you may create a freestyle dance. However, all dances must by your own work; any kajira discovered to be using material that was previously performed, or stolen, borrowed or written by another, will be disqualified and, depending on your Master or Mistress, beaten.

Three prizes will be awarded:
1st $4000L
2nd $2500L
3rd $1500L

1. All slaves of Gor, red or white silk, male or female may enter this competition with the permission of their owners.

2. You will provide a statement from your owner, showing permission to participate in the competition (application can be found at the bottom of this scroll).

3. The first 12 applicants will be registered to participate on a first come, first serve basis. All registration must be completed, and will be cut off, 24 hours prior to the start of the contest. The Judges reserve the right to expand the quantity of contestants and/or limit the number from any one region, to allow for wider world representation, if necessary.

4. Teehras Landing will provide a safe environment for the dance competition attendees but assumes no liability nor responsibility for anyone's personal safety travelling to or from, nor away from the designated area of event.

5. You may perform any dance style you wish, freestyle or traditional. If you choose to perform a traditional dance, you will be held to and judged by the standards of that dance. Anyone discovered to be using material that was previously performed, borrowed, stolen, or written by another in any way will be disqualified.

6. The only limitation on your dance will be time. The dance may be no longer than 10 ehns, beginning with your first post. There are no word counts, line or post limits. This is your time to express yourself freely. All kajirae will continue to dance until the end of their performance. You will be given the command to stop by one of the judges. Any posts made after the command will be ignored and the dance will be judged as incomplete if necessary.

7. The winner will be the dancer with the highest sum score as determined by the panel of Judges, each using a 50 point scale. You will be judged in the areas of composition, authenticity, pleasure, originality/creativity, and expressiveness. The dancer with the highest cumulative score is the winner. In the event of a tie, the dancer with the highest originality/creativity score will be the winner. If still tied, the dancer with the highest pleasure score will be declared winner. If there continues to be a tie, the judges will deliberate further and declare a winner.

Bio:
Kismet is a free woman of the physician's caste. She is originally from Earth, she was brought up by her mother in New Orleans as a debutant, her father having dissapeared. She was treated as a delicate thing, learning music and dance and other polite southern society norms. She aspired to be a doctor despite her mother's upbringing. While she was in school she met a man. The man befriended her quickly and soon he brought her bound, gagged, and crying to Gor to be his kajira, though she never submitted. She was captured in a raid of a city while outside a city attempting to escape the man using a FW's disguise. She was owned by JeanFerdinand Beaumont for a short amount of time before she was able to beg her release, knowing she was truly free at heart. Little did she know the man who brought her to Gor was her father's rival. One day she heard her father's name and found he had not dissapeared, but had come to Gor, the place he was born. Kismet now searches for him. Every month a shipment from her father is sent to her. The delivery men refuse to tell her where her father is and travel in disguise so as not to attract attention. In these shipments are clothing, spices, and other valuable goods to provide for Kismet. One day Kismet went walking outside her city of Fina. She'd packed all of her valuables in a small sack and planned to make her fortune elsewhere. But fate had another plan for her. On her way out of the city she was attacked by Bloodline Outlaws. Their leader recognized Kismet as someone she owed a debt to and Kismet was given a choice. Life as an outlaw, death, or slavery...

Hellenos dance school

The Hellenos School of Slave Dance is an intensive course in the advanced art of Gorean Slave Dance. A slave has very few more powerful ways to express her desires, her needs and her cravings.

"Slave dance, that form of dance, in its thousands of variations, in which a female may excitingly and beautifully, marvellously and fulfillingly, express the depths and profoundities of her nature. In such dance the woman moves as a female, and shows herself as a female, in all her excitingness and beauty. This 8-week course covers the history of Gorean slave dance, the culture surrounding Gorean dance, and an examination of the traditional dances as described in the books. The slaves skills will be honed in expressiveness, creativity, pleasure and composition. There will be 2 required dances to receive your certificate: one pre-written and one off-the-cuff.

The school will accept red silk or white silk, male or female slaves. You must have a strong understanding of the basic gorean drink/food serve. As part of the application, you will be required to include a live food/drink serve for evaluation on your readiness to enter the school.

The first class of this cycle will be Saturday 10 January 2009 at Noon SLT. The classes will be limited to 5 students to ensure active participation in the class as well as close supervision of the instructors.

GOREAN TRADE AND COMMERCE - PROPOSAL

This is a proposal to introduce alternate role playing to captures, regular raids and
such. Is a more peaceful side to the type of Gorean life that we have come to expect.
Please note it is an alternative, not a replacement - is designed to blend in with and
enhance what we already have.

If the plan is successful, there will be more shops, additional and increased levels of
activity with all citizens and a higher interest in the continued well being of the city.

As business grows, ports will be buzzing with all manner of new activity, there will be
new jobs, new faces. Taverns will see increases in their revenues and entertainers will
become common place.

More importantly, everyone will begin to learn where the items that they once took for
granted actually come from. They may even be directly involved in the processing or
production of many consumer items, perhaps even employed to ship the goods.

Trade and commerce will be accomplished by individual cities either trading their
domestically produced goods with one another, or by them purchasing other goods
and commodities from various independant merchants and dealers.

Below is a list of items commonly used throughout Gor, their availabilty once taken for
granted. Look the list over, it's only partial but a good starting point. Decide whether
to process various goods, be involved in production of such things as pottery or
furniture, perhaps throw out fish nets, manage groves of olives and apricots, mine
coal, produce charcoal, raise cash crops, maybe dabble in the exotics. Plenty of
opportunity for interesting role playing scenarios.

An important point to mention here is, do research of your particular area. Know what is
produced in your region and what cannot be. In other words, keep it as realistic as you can.

Also, understand that seasons will have an effect on trade. The fall months will see a
bounty of consummable goods, while the colder winter months may be rather bleak. It
would be a good idea to warehouse various items. All part of the role playing.

Suggest that you in intially choose only one or two items to start with - this will give you an
idea on how the program will be for you. As experience is gained, it is expected you may
add additional, pertinent products for your city.

Cities subscribing to this plan must agree to be a reliable source of the products found
in their region, and which they choose to carry.
Stiff competition is expected, so the items intially chosen will be monitored to help
prevent a lop-sided market. Until the program is actually up and running, be prepared
to make changes in the types of products you wish to sell, it will setle down. All items in
the list will eventually be made available, naturally.

The list of products and suppliers( Certified Suppliers) will be maintained by me for
period of time until the program becomes established. The list will be forwarded to the
Head Merchant of each member city every other day or so until it is seen that the program
actually works and is acceptable to everyone.

A group has been established for further communications amongst members - it's called the Allied Trade Cooperative.

The list of Certified Suppliers is for all - the supplier, of course, to make sure the customer
sees his products and knows how to make contact, and for the customers to learn of
current market information and of any changes. It's a form of advertising, but it will be
directed solely at the membership, as opposed to the entire population. So, please get
your names in now to ensure you will begin receiving future notices. The use of this "public"
Group will soon be discontinued with all notices being sent on the new ATC group (above).

Only retailers , wholesalers and manufacturers are allowed access to the list. This program
is not a "direct to the consumer" program. It'll be up to the retailers to further promote their
products and services to the end consumers, if they wish.

It is ongoing, not necessarily fast and furious, but when an order is received, it must be filled.
Should the pace become too hectic, you, the suppliers, can slow it down to suit the tempo.

Remember, this is Gor-wide, and is not related to, or in favor of, any one particlar city. I see it
eventually being controlled or monitored by a small cooperative board with a chairman and an
assistant, so that everyone is fairly and reasonably represented.

Following is a guideline, not a set of rules, to what may happen in role playing. The unfolding
events in each situation will always be different.

To order, a customer contacts the supplier(s) and places the order. There are no prices at
this stage so there is no bidding, although there is nothing to prevent one from role playing.

All goods are on hand, so the shipment is made for whatever schedule suits each party.

Packaging must be adequate for the long journey. Each package in the shipment must bear
the name of the supplier, contents of the crate and the full name and address of the consignee.

In the case of livestock, well, you'll just have to use your own imagination. That will definitely
provide for some excellent role playing. Make sure stockyards exist at both ends.

Land shipments can be made via caravan, tarn or boat if the supplier is coastal. Shipments
to destinations accessible only by water are of course made only by boat.

All cities must provide adequate receiving and storage facilities and be properly staffed.
Example of staff positions > 􀀁

To make a shipment, a representative of the supplier's Merchants group teleports to the
destination (the consignee) - role play the method of transportation. On arrival, the
representative will require assistance from the wharf personnel to unload.

Shipments are not to be unloaded unless there is an authorized official on hand to sign.
(Call ahead to make sure someone will be there - the signature of a slave won't do).

Once the shipper has an authorized signature, ownership of the goods is transferred to
the consignee and the shipment can then be unloaded to a receiving area.

Now, the end customer - the person who actually placed the order - is notified by the
Wharf personnel that the shipment has been received and is ready for pickup. If the
shipment isnt claimed within three days, it could become subject to demurrage and
possible confiscation, depending on the local laws.

Note, facilities to feed live animals may not exist on most wharves, so if left standing after
20 ahns from the time of original receipt, ownership may be transferred to the city with
standing orders the animals will be slaughtered, and the bodies disposed of accordingly.

The Harbor, any of its facilities and any of its personnel should bear no liability toward
this treatment.

REQUIRED ELEMENTS PER DANCE STYLE:
NOTE: All dances will be expected to be performed in an authentically Gorean manner. It is duly noted, for example, that while a slave may become aroused and dance her sexual need, there is no precident in the books for a kajira to publicly masturbate or perform other similarly graphic sex acts while dancing. That said, except where specified for the purpose of "acting" in a particular style, a kajira is free to express any emotions which she feels compelled to convey during any dance... of course at her own peril if she is found displeasing.

BEAUTY DANCE:
1. Begins immediately nearly starved with desire dancing her need before all the men.
2. She then focuses her attentions to one Master, kneeling before him and indicating her lust to be taken by him alone with unspoken expressions.
3. Feeling rejected by not being taken then and there she turns away and dances upon the floor more wantonly with increased frustration.
4. She repeatedly looks to the Master hoping for the command to have her come back to him and she continues to move more hungrily every time her begging is not appeased.
5. She finally rises to her feet and angrily dances by the other Masters trying to tempt them but evading their touch.
6. She finally returns to the one Master and dances herself to complete exhaustion until she collapses before him.

BELT DANCE:
1. The belt dance is performed with a Warrior.
2. She wears a white silken cord around her waist
3. The girl's head is not suppose to rise above the Warrior's belt, but only purists concern themselves with such niceties; wherever the dance is performed, however, it is imperative that the girl never rise to her feet.
4. She writhes at his feet, moving as though being struck with a whip.
5. She then shows obeisance
6. She then grows increasingly desperate to please him
7. The Warrior finally takes a knee to her side, bends her back in a bow position and then lowers her to the ground and breaks away at the end of the music

CHAIN DANCE
1. The dancer is heavily veiled.
2. She moves quickly back and forth, appearing frightened and avoiding imaginary objects, seemingly being chased.
3. A Warrior appears and thwarts her movements, finally catching her and pulling back her veils and she pleadingly tries to escape his clutches
4. He lets go of her and she submits to him in misery as he collars and leashes her with a chain
5. She dances woefully away to the full length of the chain and the turns suddenly savage, tearing away her robes and pulling on the chain in rebellion
6. She dances around the Warrior who takes in and slackens the length of chain at his will, every time she pulls away with different attitude and manner than the last, each time being permitted less distance away.
7. The Warrior finally draws the girl entirely to him when she is finally exhausted and obedient. He then kisses her, lifts her in his arms and carries her off

NEED DANCE
1. She begins by feigning indifference to the presence of men
2. She grows restless as she feels the subtle pangs of her sexual urges just beginning to manifest. She grows anxious, full of self-doubt, fearing she might be unsatisfying
3. She reservedly but clearly acknowledges to the Masters that she has sexual needs and beautifully displays herself in an open and sensual invitation
4. She begins to shamelessly beg for her sexual satisfaction.
5. Overcome with desire, full of panic that she will be left unsated, she pleads for her rape as a desperate and totally submitted slave, usually unable to even stay on her feet as she collapses to the floor and finally ends in a weak posture still reaching to be taken.

POLE DANCE
1. The dancer is tethered to a pole.
2. She dances with the pole and for the pole, as if it was her Master.
3. She continues to try to please the pole by kissing, caressing and moving against and about it
4. She begins to get aroused herself and continues more wantonly as she dances on the pole as if it is her Master
5. She is pulled away from the pole and she struggles and reaches for it as she is permitted slowly back to it where she continues her obeisant dancing
6. She is finally overcome, throwing herself before them men watching.
Note: This dance can also be performed without being bound by tethers and around an imaginary pole that the dancer clearly mimes around.

DANCE OF THE SIX THONGS:
1. Six men, each holding a free end of a length of binding fiber, hold a kneeling slave (who wears only five pieces of steel about her collar, wrists and ankles) and fastened the thongs to her (one for each wrist and ankle, and two about her waist) and then step away to stand six or eight feet from her, three on a side.
2. She starts to move as though not knowing herself bound and seems annoyed or puzzled at the feel of a slight tug, but then she is permitted to move as she wishes.
3. Then, still kneeling, as she tries to do something specific (like take down her hair) she is teasingly restrained, being permitted to occasionally get to her task and then repeatedly getting pulled back. She gets increasingly frustrated and the more she struggles, the more she is restrained.
4. She finally realizes her bondage and in fear and/or anger, and leaps to her feet to fight fiercely, dancing in a frenzy
5. Her fear mounts as the men take up the slack, and her movement become subdued and controlled, until finally they bind her hand and foot and lift her over their heads, displaying her captured to observers.

TETHER DANCE
1. A tether is fastened about the slave's throat and it is either held by a Master or fastened to a stake.
2. The girl dances with the tether in any manner that she feels compelled, from fighting it to loving it, trying to please the Master, always very apparent as a slave
3. Typically finishes the dance in heated need and total obeisance

TILE DANCE
1. The dance is usually performed with the slaves body on the floor, typically red tiles, before a Master's couch, with her neck chained to the slave ring.
2. The girl first moves sensuously as if she is completely alone and only she is aware of her sexual need
3. She then appears surprised by the Master's attention and attempts to suppress and hide her tormenting lust
4. She finally surrenders her pride and openly begs him to touch her.

VEIL DANCE
1. The dancer is well covered in loosely tucked silk veils, with much jewelry (often made from small denomination coins) and finger cymbals
2. She starts to dance apparently fixed upon an imaginary slave pole [Note: see POLE DANCE for greater detail of that style of dance, but in this case the focus and highlight is upon the use of the veils. The slave pole serves more simply as a center of gravity for the slave to dance around]
3. Upon a signal from the music she approaches a Master and removes a silk veil, floating it about and touching the Master with it and then returning to the center. This usually continues until all her silks are removed, either by herself or the Master(s).

WHIP DANCE
1. A Master with a whip stands near the dancer and cracks it close to her but not striking her, unless she performs badly, as she reacts as if hit, ever dancing in an attempt to be pleasing.
2. The Whip Master approaches and appears to beat her down to the floor and stands over her as she poses in total submission
3. The Whip Master then pulls her to him (perhaps wrapping her in the whip) and drags her off, tossing her to other watching Masters so they may have their way with her

Welcome to the FIrst Edition of the Thentis Times. You editor welcomes news articles written by you and any and all news of the day.

The city prepares for Winter, as the cold winds blow, and flurries fly. We welcome it. Lady Linn has some wonderful baked goods to enjoy along with our own steaming blackwine by the fireplace. What could be better.

As your editor works on this first edition, Warrior Gustav Szpieler and his girl tay, keep me company in the Scribery. There are many scrolls to enjoy here, both fiction and non-fiction. Please visit.

And now the news:

Much drama centered around the submission of Lady Mew (Mewkas Pyle). It seems she did indeed submit to Sir Dragger Allen, Admin, who accepted her submission on behalf of the city. There was no witness. Unfortunately, according to Thentis law, when a free submits, it must be witnessed by another free. While we pondered this, her former FC, Nimbus Landar, came by to claim her, and his unborn baby. Sir Dragger challenged him, according to the Code of the Warrior. The challenge was declined, therefore forefeited. Lady Mew once again submitted, this time in the presence of witnesses, with the proviso she be freed for the birth of the baby. Her former FC was dishonored and banished.

Your editor received a visit from the Ambassador of Port Olni, Zephor Writer and his lovely companion, Kama Maertens. Sir Zeph is interested in establishing trade between our cities and perhaps conducting war games too. They extended an invitation to me for a visit. Our lovely Ambassador Lady SIenna Charman and I shall visit soon.

Speaking of our Ambassador, her companion Jag Dreamscape made a dramatic entrance on a tarn, scooped up his Companion against her will and spirited her off. CItizens stood by, somewhat perplexed.

Apparently the panther tribe camped in the foothills has moved on to Elysium. Citizens are enjoying the quiet.

Tharna Slave Hunt

Welcome!

The first ever kajira hunt in Tharna is on Friday 14th Nov 08, at 4pm SL.

It well be held on both sims. The meeting place will be the Market.

There is a small entrance fee. 70 percent of will be split by the winning panther and winning slave, and 30% for the sim. The small fee is for the prize and too help the sim out with tier costs.

To enter.. send Kristel Magic a notecard saying you would like to enter and then send the small fee of 10 l$.

The cages to put the slaves in well be proved by this girl. The hunt will be both in the city sim and the woods sim.. this is a OOC event.

The rules are smiple.. the slaves well have a 10 min start on the panthers. No radars or mapping aloud. The Panther that gets the most slaves wins. For the panther side, you well have to cap the slave, but do not have to rp tieing.. stealing of cap slaves is allowed.. unless they are in a cage already.

Any new rules will be given out on day.

(The Tatrix shall be judge in case of any disputes).

So invite your friends, to come.. if they are panthers.

We do not act like we have a homestone or raid cities. If one of our number is captured, it is likely she will have to cope with the consequences herself and not expect a horde to descend on her captors.

We will be 100% in character all the time. No brackets, no whining, no gossip, no drama.

We will move into a land and build a temporary camp that is very well hidden. We will hunt and gather food and trade for those other goods that we need to survive. When it is time to move on, we will vanish and move to a new land.

In SL Gor there has been a growing number of copycat sims - sims who use the names of sims that are already in existance. So the Citizens and Admins of Kasra near the Tarhari wish to be sure that the following points are clear to the community of SL Goreans of which we are a part:

1. There actually are two distinct, different Kasras in the books of Gor. One is the Capital of Tyros. The second is a city at the juncture of three rivers north of the Tahari desert.

2. In SL Gor, both Kasras exist separately and are created as sims for people to enjoy, take part in, and role play in the spirit of the books that so many of us love.

Kasra north of the Tahari is a full rp sim with a red salt mine in the spirit of Tribesmen of Gor.

As A different City than the one located in the Rosewood Sim, we are interested in clarity and providing places where people can enjoy what we have to offer, we invite you to please visit our City and enjoy its beauty and the quality of its people.

Be aware that there are others who call themselves Kasra but are not associated with either our City or the Four Sims on the Thassa in anyway, and in fact appeared well after both sims were up and running. we simply wish to let people know of our City and its existance and validity in SL Gor seperate from any others of similar name.
